Got my grubby hands on the vocal acapella for this one - think I’m have a bash at a remix at somepoint. As one of the chaps that made it is a SA tutor (Phil) I’m wondering if there is any tips available or maybe even a remix pack!
(Long shot I know but worth a try ;))
all the parts are long gone im afraid…
I think the chords are Cmin, F# G# F
the melody bit D#, D, G# F or something.
I got the midi for it on my studio pc if thats any help, will dig it out later for you if I remember.
Wow, just checked it out on YouTube, top track that Phil. The missus loved it.
Wayne, wouldn’t mind the acapella too if possible might try it in a different style.
Cheers for the chords Phil
Guys, the midi would be great, come to think of it I’ve got a folder full of old midi so might be there but they are not the best.
I got the Acapella from http://www.acapellas4u.co.uk/ there is loads n loads on there
I wonder if Phil would be prepared to do a quick blog about this track?
I would be interested to know how the song came about, how it got signed to the record label, who Phil worked with/how the idea came about etc. Just thought it would be nice if he added some info to highlight how things have changed now that tracks can be signed by labels just by being on the net.
What you think Phil? Nothing too long winded just a quick insight for us nosey music geeks!!!
Was a big favourite of mine back in the day
Phil who else was behind it?
If there is any midi / vocal for it is there any chance I could have the parts? I’d quite like to do a rework of it actually
(Maybe the coast 2 coast - home tune could be something we could all do for the next Sonic Academy Remix thing Jon was posting about?)

Roben, of you look up mate you’ll see a website I’ve posted which is FULL and totally PACKED full of vocals, check it out.
There is also a midi part there but its nots the best at all, Phil has posted the chords, I’ve tried playing alongside the track, I think the f# is out as its c minor scale - didnt sound right during the pad in the brake - sounds more like C, G#,A# F I think is the root key/note for the main pad during the brake(not in the studio the now so not 100% and Phil would know better unless he’s forget)
But there is a better midi part on this website: http://www.nonstop2k.com/community but a different mix but might still give you some ideas.
I’ve just started revamping it completely today, the vocal took a bit of work and seemed a bit off after warping but all good now. Going to keep my trance style to it like my AVB remix but will be completely different! Excited as its sounding pretty good so far (I think!)
And yeah would love to enter it into a remix comp when done. Anyone know what label currently holds the rights for this one?
Problem with that website Wayne is the vocal is only a 192kbps MP3.
Would be nice to have a .wav really
I’d really like the parts to ‘Coast 2 Coast - Cut Me’ if that’s possible?
wasnt it Phil Johnston, Gleave Dobbin and one more person? Awesome tune just plain awesome!
i never knew this!
