Appreciate the feedback!

-Drums are nice and phat!! Has a great old school feel to embr
-Really feelin the bassline :45br
-2:24 filtered out vocals sound great and smoooooooothbr
-How about a drum fill at 3:42, or vocal chop. Just something to add character to the buildup and dropbr
-4:17, the vocals carry the song very nice, but this part feels a bit weak compared to the vocal sections. Maybe add some variation to that higher pitch melody stab? Or maybe even some synth stabs?br

Overall great track. Phat drums, solid groove, cleanly mixed. I really like the idea of a recreation of an old track with new technology. As a matter of fact, I’m in the process of recreating an older trance tune

Sounding very 80’s with the hollow kick reverb.br
The snare on 2:07 is nice, but I would make it stand out a bit more in the higher freq. Remove a bit more low, so the drop thereafter is even bigger. Release of snare shorter. Verb a bit shorter as well. So you get just a tiny moment of silence.br
br
The part after 3:43 you introduce a delay on the kick, but that makes it sound sometimes like things are not warped correctly. If you are mixing two records badly ;)br
br
All in all quite a good tune mate!

Thanks a lot for the great feedback lads!br
br
after listening back i do agree with everything that you said! and ill probably make those changes and upload it again! i actually sampled the drums from Queen - Radio GAGA to give it a really 80s vibe as well as the original track itself… i got the inspiration from this track there, i think this type of style is becoming more and more popular latley with the likes of Solomun playing it alot!br

Hi Dean,br
br
My thoughts were that the overall sound is pretty good, but as with any track where lots of samples are used, the key is fitting them together perefectly - don’t think you have quite pulled it off just yet, although close!br
br
Thought the machine-gun type roll in the drums every 4 bars or so, didn’t quite fit with the other elements once they all came in, thought there were some minor issues with the mixing as well once everything was playing - thought the vocal was a little upfront for my liking, and i heard a bit of a frequency spike in the mids as well - maybe more EQing needed to just get everything to sit a bit better together.br
br
I think perhaps most importanly - for me it sounded a little TOO much like an original 80’s track - everything seemed a bit too clinical and clean - think i would like it more if you took the track a bit deeper - i.e some more processing and FX on the vocal to give it more space and make it deeper in the mix etc.br
br
Overall good sound but for example if i played out this type of music, i don’t think i would play it as it wasn’t ‘deep’ enough for me.br
br
Although having said that, the track you posted up as an example of what you were basing your track on was similar, so good effort if you were going specifically for that type of sound.
