What, if any is the point of having Automatable (is that a word lol) parameters on compressors ?
Think of System of a Down - Toxicity(duno if you’ve heard it??)here
Light strumming of a guitar when the vocals are sung will need light compression, then in the break it will slowly build to tame the chaos as it gets heavy

For one of my tracks, I automated the on/off on compression sidechained.
thanks guys, was only really thinking about it as i’ve always assumed that the compressor is set to achieve what you want and then left untouched.
i couldn’t figure out in my head why you would need to automate something that is basically in its simplest form a automatic volume control lol
C’mon Jon, get with the Future!
It’s all about manually automating your automatic automaters.
