Connecting Cdj900s to computer

Hi folks

A plea for help really. I want to connect my two cdj900s to my computer so i can use them in conjuction with my xone4d. I know i need a hub but which one should i get and does it matter in regards to the “quality” of said hub.

Thanks for reading

Justin

Hi, I guess you want a usb hub because there aren’t enough usb ports on your computer to connect everything? It will make a difference because the usb hub will introduce some extra latency, but it should be of a manageable size. If possible you should connect your Xone directly into your computer, because it has the audio interface in it (I think), and the cdj900s into the usb hub.

I did quite a lot of looking online for which usb hub generates the least latency and found nothing useful.

I use a D-link DUB-H4 powered usb hub for my Traktor laptop and it is ok. It does introduce a bit of extra latency, but nothing that causes problems and less than a belkin non-powered hub I also have.

The other option I thought about was cardbus or Expresscard usb, but I haven’t tried them yet.

You can measure baseline latency using DPC Latency checker (google it)

Thanks Ant

i’ll look in to that hub when i get home.

Hey

To connect the CDJs you need an Ethernet hub, not a USB hub…

You talk about latency when using a USB HUB “TheAnt” but I have never come across any at all…

I currently use my MacBook and Traktor Scratch PRO along with 2x Kontroller X1’s and often have to plug in a USB HUB, but never seem to come across any latency.

The USB HUB which i have as well is a pretty cheaper one from an online retailer.
