Sorry, I ask alot of questions, just trying to learn! Can’t learn without asking…
Do you know how to copy automation from one track to another in an ableton project?
Look at the right hand end of your arrangement window. There are the boxes indicating what you have labelled each channel or what they contain (e.g. bass, drums, so on)
Below the two boxes that indicate what parameter you’re automating, e.g Mixer, A-Reverb, there’s a small + symbol. If you click on that it creates a new sub channel below the main one that only contains the automation data.
You can highlight any part or all of that and copy and past it into a whatever channel you want to. All it will copy is the automation data. So, you can then paste that automation data into a sub channel for the same instrument, clip, etc or onto a totally new instrument/clip channel - as long as you paste it into a sub channel lane - it won’t paste into the main channel lane.
Hope that makes sense.
That’s a nice tip m8. Thanks!
wow… this is useful , I was right clicking and using the Copy Envelope and Paste Envelope commands. This is more handy for big automation work. Thank you.
