Crashing audio after hitting a midi note in Ana2

Hi Ana2 audio crashes and has no sound output after opening VST and playing a midi note

My DAW is Ableton 12, already tried reinstall.
Anyone knows how to fix?

Sometimes this can happen if a preset gets corrupted on save or crash.

Are you on Mac or PC?

Hi there,

Could you please try to delete your ANA 2.settings file first and report back if this resolve the issue or not.

On Windows, you’ll access this .settings file at the path below :

C:/Users/Your-Username/AppData/Roaming/Sonic Academy

The AppData + sub-folders might be hidden by default on Windows, you’ll need to Reveal Hidden Files & Folders )

If deleting your .settings file does not resolve the issue, then please let us know the following details as well, thank you :+1:

  • Are you using the latest version ANA 2 version v2.5.6 ?

  • Is it the VST2 or VST3 plugin instance causing issue ?

  • Like Phil mentioned, it could also be a corrupted preset as well, is this happening with a specific preset or a custom User Preset ?

→ You can reveal your User Presets folder from ANA 2 Pull Down menu and you could try to temporary move your User Presets folder ( i.e : temporary move it to your desktop ) to check if that could be a User Preset causing the issue.

Thank you for your fast reply!

I just found the solution, I had to increase my sample rate in ableton settings and changed it from lowest 22050 to 44100.

Plugin is working now!
