I’m not sure if this has been covered in a tutorial or not, but I’m trying to figure out the best way to make the drum buildup before the infamous “Drop” in a track.
I’m using Ableton, and I’ve seen some stuff that said to use an Arpeggiator on the drum loop and/or creating it manually by just spacing out the beats by hand. I’m not sure how to do the first one, but whenever I try the 2nd way mine doesn’t seem to turn out right.
If someone could explain a good way of creating the buildup for the drop, or point me in the direction of a tutorial/video, I’d greatly appreciate it!
Thanks,
Slowe
I would be interested in this as well, I’ve tried to do it bt hand, but like you it doesn’t sound quite right, it always sounds a bit flat.
The video “Advanced Techniques - Drums Breaks and Builds” have videos in there on how to assemble sweeps and all other sorts of tension-building effects. Check those out.
