Ive heard the odd tune here and there with vocals or short samples alterd to sound similar,how do you get that sound? I know there are vocoders but ive never seen one to change it to sound like a dalek type:ermm:
the original dalek voice was made in the BBC radio phonic workshop, on an analogue synth passing the vocal through the ring modulator
They didnt do any vocoder style stuff to get the sound, just adding a ring mod to your microphones channel.
Could do it in ableton using the frequency shifter plug in and setting it to ring mod I guess, havent got time to try it here though so not sure how you’d set it
