Anyone else having troubles with audio spikes in ableton? Seems to be when I set the audio to 48Hz or above ready for exporting a pre-master and it’s always on a reverb plugin. Its happened on a few different reverb plugins now.
It sends the channel level right up as far into the red as it will go with a horrendous noise!! Owch!!! :w00t:
Could you not use a limiter or turn it all down a bit?

Yeah I tried slapping a limiter on the end of it, but the limiter can’t handle the noise spike! We’re talking +26db of noise! All I can do is knock the power off the reverb or silence the channel. It has happened with a few different reverbs now!

I dont really get what you mean. Are you using hardware reverbs or software? Also how are you using the reverb, as a send? Or just whacking it on a channel?

I’ll have to do a screen grab next time it happens to show you what I mean
Freq spikes …try to find what region the spikes are occurring then move one sound up or down a few semi tones so sounds aint hitting at the same freq at the same time
This is what I’m talking about! :w00t:
Alright, how the hell do you upload a pic? There should be an attachment below:
How do you just put a pic in your post?
Is the spike happening after you export it or before? You could try bouncing only the track with the reverb so u can work with an audio file instead. That way you can freeze the original track, or just turn of the plug ins. It will use much less cpu, which might be why the spike is happening.
It seems to happen when I’m about to export the track … don’t know why this is! It doesn’t seem to be happening to anyone else! :(:crying:
