Have been having a snoop round on Beatport the last couple of days, noticed that Beatport listed quite a few tracks as being in a major key- including a dark and dirty techno track by Adam Beyer of all people!br
br
Is this just an automatic algorithm of Beatports going wrong, or perhaps half the track in minor (the build), and then switching to major for the break?br
br
Asking as thought most dance tracks are in minor? Certainly dirty techno tunes at least!
or it analyzes the minor track as major, like d major instead of b minor since they use the same notes.
It’s pretty **** if Beatport are putting keys up for tracks that are wrong!
are you sure they aren’t in a major key? sure, most dance music is minor, but not all.br

Doesn’t every minor have a relative major? And vice versa…
