Really like this, can imagine someone like Digweed smashing it out middle of the night. Great progression love the way it builds. Good skills
- good bassbr
- i like the fx effectsbr
- love those drum fills in front of the dropsbr
- very nice string pad (or whatever) starting at around 4:10 and then playing along with the melody during the drop. amazingbr
- nice song to dance tobr
br
- very repetitive melody. i want to see some variety
Thank you so much for your comments guys.br
br
If anyone else listens please comment and let me know your thoughts.br
br
Thank you once again,br
br
David.
From 4:02 till the drop you should trim more of the low. Especially of the bassline. Will make the drop just a bit bigger.br
All in all, a lovely tune Dave! You really stepping up your game!
Thanks daniaan - yes this is the result of many many hours of hard work and practice in the past 4 or 5 weeks!br
br
I have basically stopped going out at weekends and getting smashed so that i can spend all weekend producing and be nice and fresh - whereas before i was out all night clubbing and then couldn’t get much done the next day!br
br
It seems to be paying off!br
br
Yes i know what you mean about cutting more low end during the break - i played around with this for quite a while, but when i tried increasing the cut off frequency of the high-pass filter on the master channel, i didn’t like the sound as much during the breakdown. But then like you said, ultimately i would have liked the drop to have felt just a little bit bigger - but i guess a little more practice is needed to make that happen.br
br
How’s your next track coming on mate? You got one signed to a label right - has it been released yet?
You shouldn’t do that filtering on the master. At least, I don’t ever do that.br
On every channel I have a filter. Don’t you? You should ;)br
br
Now in the break just slowly roll off more bass and decrease the Q or resonance of the filter. But don’t make it too thin, cause that hardly ever makes it sound good.
I really like this br
especially the drums they just sound main room, energetic and on a mission.br
The 1st riff is great and theres enough movement to capture interest and sustain it.br
I really like that filter riff orking all the way through.br
a nice little stomper, I’d prob add a vocal but thats just me.br
br
sounding good mate
Really clean work there mate, well done :)br
br
If it were my track, I would have added a bit more variation to the second drop, I found myself pining for the stabs to finish off the bar at somepoint with a bit more variation to the riff.br
br
Also the first few bars it would be nice to hear the kick slighly hpf with a bit of res to give it a really nice punch and then suddenly have it drop (like it does at 2.15), I just really like that in songs so again personal preferance.br
br
Other than that really great mix and use of fx, and great break at 3-4.30
Tune!! the bass sounds great
cool groove, thou the main beat could be a little stronger for me
nice bro, but like some of the other guys said it needs more spice. Its like a one movement dance song
Great tune very funky sounding Dave and I couldn’t stop tapping my feet! :Dbr
br
I agree with some of the other comments about it needing more variation though as I found myself no longer hearing some of the things at the beginning as I knew what was coming. Maybe change up the stabs at the end of the 16 bars with a fill of some sort?br
br
Overall though it’s a really nice track that sounds very clean and polished and I reckon it would go down a treat in a club that plays funk!
