David

I like this David, really nice suby kick and deep bass and great little bits of FX and percussion, especially like the drum roll used to introduce new parts, my only thoughts were that it could have progressed a little quicker in the build up and perhaps bring in another different element to the track after the breakdown to complement the main synth just to keep things interestingbr
br
Other than that I would maybe have a play around with the reverb and delay on the the main synth, sounds a little dry but that could be personal preference.

Thanks Jimmy.

Hey Davidbr
br
I’m going to be fairly critical here because I think you have a really good track that needs a bit more work.br
br
Groove is solid and strong. And the track moves along well. I do agree that perhaps the second half needs something else to differentiate it.br
br
There’s a lot going on in the low end in the track. The kick and bass sit ok but could be better with some judicious EQing - it’s all very subby with not enough separation between the two elements. When they’re running with just the percussion at the beginning it’s fine but as more layers get added I really lose the bass groove. Just becomes sonically muddled on my set up - and it’s a pretty neutral set here.br
br
The percussion adds to the problem for me - rhythm is fine but there seems to be a lot compressed into the mid frequencies. So, when the synths come in you lose the detail of the perc. br
br
The vocal stab in the second half of the bar stands out way too much for me. It may be that it’s because everything else is low/mid range and it’s higher up the freq range but it’s not sitting within the groove. More sort of floating on top of it to the point that I started focusing on it rather than the nice synths you’ve got going on.br
br
Seems like a lot there I know but it’s probably just carefully looking at the EQ of each part and how they sit with one another. Hope that helps.

Thanks Jon, good feedback there.br
br
Yes it’s hard to EQ really well as my set up is sonically pretty bad.br
br
But i might do some more work in it and ask you to have another listen, if you have a really good acoustic set up that you can trust.br
br
Cheers mate.

No worries. I’ll have another listen if you make changes. Before I had the set up I have I relied a lot on visual checks of EQ alongside what I could hear.

Nice track!

Good track david really liked that build up going into the 5 minute mark…the kick had too much sub for my monitors to really get the meat of it but the rest of the percussion sounds spot on…thats all I’ve got to say good job man

Yeah no doubt thats a good subkick (Atleast on my M50’s anyway!) Start is pretty damn cool kinda reminded me a Dog Blood Style upto about 1.45ish mark! I’d say one or two vocal glitch samples every 4 bars or something though to vary it at the start but it is a kinda song that doesn’t necessarily ask for that in my opinion.br
br
Not my kind of song but it was impressive in creativity, originality in the mix down!br
br
:hehe:
