Deadmau5 - October Remix

EDIT 2:

New version AGAIN, you lot probably bored of this one…

Anyways…

Feedback, as always appreciated... Tried to keep this version closer to the original... Didnt work :P
Something weird seems to be going on with this track and I have no clue how to fix it? Sounds awkwardly harsh...

Would love to hear feedback/opinions however harsh it may be!
Tear away please!

Still need to mix it some more, but before I do I want to see if there is anything I might need to do to the track...
Started this track last night, been spending hours on it since, need rest!

I had to listen to the original to remind myself what it sounds like before listening to your remix…

Produced well mate, it wasn’t holding my interest all the way through (might be because I’ve been deprived from sleep) I think you could do with changing the lead hook to another sound, it doesn’t seem to gel with everything else so nicely, try something less… trancey? This should grab the listeners attention… a few more builds which could impact your breakdowns too??

A nice production man

Thanks, I’ll definately look into it and see what I can do! Appreciate the feedback/comment!

Updated the track, used Ozone for mastering (if its considered mastering) so mostly its louder.

Tried to make the lead grittier and less trancy… Still need to work on it but as usual feedback would be appreciated.

New Version: SoundCloud - Hear the world’s sounds

Hey fella, just took a listen and it’s a good track overall. I do think you’ve over compressed it though - just looking at the waveform in soundcloud made me think it might be and it was (I think).

Also, it feels like the energy levels through the whole track remain at about the same point with no real ups or downs. Take the break that starts around 4:20. I think there’s too much bottom end bassiness left in there so when your drop hits it doesn’t have the impact it should have.

Have you got Audacity (it’s free) or any tool where you can analyse the waveform clearly? I guess you can do it in the DAW if you bounce the track first? Anyway, I always drop in tracks, that I like, to take a look at where energy changes and then try to analyse how. What they took away to make that change, what they added. It’s a good tool.

If you’re still up for working on this, I think it will make a big difference to the overall journey your listener goes on.

Hope that helps.

its a nice piece of music, tho not heard the original, i think your versions a little too loopy with not enough variation but i still do that myself at times :stuck_out_tongue:

Will definately look into it, actually just realized I had an automated Auto-Filter cutoff but bouncing the audio out musta removed it or something :frowning:

Going to leave this one alone for a bit though, just a bit :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks for the comments and feedback as always!

Remixed it again… I know FFS right?
