ok so i’m up to “Tutorial 11 - Arranging Part 1” and i’m stuck on 4:30ish. i add the autofilter to disable kicks. but he has a slot for kicks on the arrangement view and on top of that where he has drum rack open, he easily disables the hi-hats for the first few bars then it comes in on 33. like wtf? i cant seem to do that. im at the end of finishing this project up but stuck.
thanks a lot
-----------------------
i feel tempted to disemble that drum rack and put all the samples one by one using simpler. like that it would be easier to control what comes in, just the hassle to do all that damn.

hi
not sure what exactly the problem is that you are having
the drum rack holds the midi data for all of the drums, all that has been done for the first 32 bars is that he has split the drum loop, deleted some hats and drums out of it. that way that midi pattern is only playing the hats and kick.
you can’t hear the kick for the first 16 bars because of the high pass filter that is turned on.
to edit the midi data, double click the clip to get the parts up in the window below.

i tried that but when i delete the hi-hats i want out, it gets removed from the entire 6min bars.
do you see how he deletes the hi-hats for the first couple of bars, THATS what i want to be able to do.
Sounds like you may have to spilt the clip?
Highlight the part of the midi you want to edit, hit CTRL + E to make it a sperate midi clip (you will see the black line between the two parts of the midi clip) then edit the newly separated midi clip. Maybe?

i love you. (strong words) that was exactly what he did in the tutorial video. thanks worked. FYI dont tell a girl you love her unless you rly mean it because they’ll turn into psycho’s.

You can do this easily. On the drum rack on the left click the Show / Hise Chain list icon so the chail list is showing. Then right click each chain and select Extract Chains. I prefer to have each drum part like this.
