hi, I’ve got a release for one of my tracks;
SoundCloud - Hear the world’s sounds
and I need to get it mastered. This is my 1st release and have no idea who to go to and how much to pay any advice on this would be great as i dont want to seem unprofessional to the record label.
Also any feedback on the track would help me improve for future productions

I get the impression record labels usually get the mastering done for you!
Yeah i think if the label isnt gonna do the mastering for you then you really have to question the label itself…
Also instead of worrying about online mastering services spend that time and energy in learning how to mixdown…
they said they would master it for me, but i was chatting to a few mates who are signed and they were saying some labels back-date mastering charges etc just dont want to get stung!
Tbh I don’t know about stuff like that, someone else on here should know

It wouldn’t hurt to just ring the label and ask them if the mastering is part of the deal. You should have something in writing that outlines all of this. If you don’t have this in writing(even an email from the label outlining the deal will work), then you don’t have a deal. Not getting screwed is up to you. They can only take what you give them…
i got in touch with few labels where they wanted me to pay mastering services from my own pocket to release Music. I never signed with them because they usually try to make quick cash .and usually are really small labels.
i would suggest to talk to them , and if you signed a contract then u should check it out that too. labels like that abuse of newcomers .
