did some experiments on how to make a song sound less clean to be able to play more “kitsch” melodies and 2 or 4 chord loops without sounding too cheap. melody suffered a bit from all the effects. it’s pretty depressing when played with just one instruments instead of six. but overall, does this sound work?
Hey I like this a lot, it’s different. If it’s not a secret, what did you use for your choir sounds? Are they samples or part of a synth or something? I like their sound.
If I had to critique something I would say the bassline could use a little more body and I would try adding subtle rises/falls in a few places and experimenting with that.
hi, thanks. indeed now the bass sounds quite weak. found it way too strong yesterday and reduced it more and more every time i rendered the mix.
the choir is some boy choir preset from omnisphere, layered with the female choir from uvi orchestral suite on a lower volume, ohmboys for the delay, and a medium and a huge reverb as send effects.
