I would love to see some sample based tutorials come onto the site. Considering how important sampling is within dance music, there isn’t much on it tutorial wise. I know allot of that will be down to licensing but I remember Phil saying in the first live tutorial that you have now paid for whatever the license is so you can play other peoples tracks. I think this allowed you to play YouTube videos within the live session.
It would be good to have some good remixing courses showing how to use samples within house tracks, I know this is a bit like the tech disco course but that disn’t actually cover how to take the sample from the track, and how to gel them with your drums etc.
Also I think this would be good as it would be cross genre so should be good for allot of people.
Also there’s a big increase is re-edits at the moment, a tutorial on how to make one would be good. Here’s an example of a biggish one at the moment using Return of the Mack.
+1 I would love this tutorial too!
This is an old post but agreed!! Would love to see a tutorial covering how to refresh disco samples. The techniques of sampling from this could be applied to many genres too!
