DJ - which way should you mix?

Just wondering what the proper way you should mix between 2 tracks?



I started off with the fader, but now I’ve heard its best using the volume levels on each track to mix?



What’s the advantage of doing this?

It gives you a bit more control with the blend using the volume controls.
