i have had an apc 40 for about a year and a half, barely use it
the other day put away my decks, put the apc into my ecler nuo dj mixer and had a play, absolutely amazing stuff
for traditional mixing traktor will be better but for something a bit off key ableton definitely… as I can mix fine on cdjs / vinyl traktor doesnt appeal to me, although i have seen some funky things with an x1
what kind of setup do people use on there apc40’s ? so many options

Reading through this topic I’m surprised that noone uses the Livid Ohm64. They laid out far better for Djing with Traktor, with the channels in line with 3 pot layout that I hated not having on the APC. Loads of buttons that have a nicer feel and that can be mapped to do whatever you like (dont think the APC can do this); I have the additional sliders on the right set up to Wet/Dry effects and Filters which I really like. The only issue with the one that I got is that the LEDs are only one colour but I think they can flash. The newer version OhmRGB has multi-colour LEDs. Only just started using Ableton again so I’ve not set it up for that yet but the layout lends itself to the clip format.
Anyway, solid controller; all are hand built and the outer case is made of wood. You can customise them if you buy new (pick wood colour, LED colour, face plate colour). I’d highly recommend it to anyone as I love mine. Think because they are not as well known I picked mine up on ebay for £160.

I’m a basic mix DJ. I don’t mess with effects, ableton live, loop playback, or samplers. I use serato itch with the pioneer ddj-s1. It is the best controller I have ever used. Nothing but high quality components inside and out.
