Do you need Acapella to master a track?

Hi guys,



I’m nearly finished doing a remix of David Guetta’s Sexy Bitch.

And I wanna get it mastered and finished asap. Thing is the acapella hasn’t been released yet and I was wondering if I can go ahead and get the instrumental mastered and then when the acapella is released add it on after? Or does the acapella have to be in the mix? I’ll be cutting up the acapella as well and maybe adding a few effects.

yeah to be fair the track would sound much better mastered as one rather than waiting for the acapella and add it later.
