Does any one listen to tracks on soundcloud

Does any one listen to tracks on soundcloud other than big names.I uploaded a track five days ago into 23 groups totaling about 80.000 members and so far have had 35 plays OK it,s not the best track in the world but with 80,000 members you would expect more than 35 plays

Virtual life is like normal life. You have to spread yourself around mate if you wanna be popular.

Its all about presence - but dont spam.

Comment on tracks left right & centre. Get your name everywhere so that people will know you when they see you commenting on other peoples tracks & go: lets check out this Guy.

I know 3 of those people who commented on your tracks from seperate places… so its about being on different w.sites too probably.

You havent said - but dont put all your eggs in one basket. Spread it out.

I listen to tracks & comment especially if i am feeling the track itself.

The problem with Soundcloud (well not with Soundcloud per se, but anything that gets that popular) is that it requires trawling through tons of ****e to find something good, or more likely, just ok.

I could better spend that time on Beatport and even then have a similar problem. Other than following people I know/have discovered through whatever means, I see it as a store for your tunes to pass out to people interested, rather than a way of being discovered in itself.

Might just be me tho…

works for me, have a look: http://soundcloud.com/waynefontaine

i usually get a couple of 100 and i post it on here, nu skool breaks if appropriate and a smaller forum with about 30 active people

my most popular track is a remix, people tend to like what they know so a remix could work as a pull factor to get people listening to your other stuff

I dont think people list even when tracks are entered into a remix competitions, I entered a track and it received a couple of dozen listens. The winning track recieved a couple of hundred votes. So how did the 200 people voting for the winner know that my track wasnt better ?

best way to get listens and comments is to listen to and comment on other peoples stuff

the people i know on there who get the most plays and comments are people who generally leave the most comments too.

now i know this to be true however i hardly ever follow my own advice!! :w00t:

and i dont leave as many comments as i could

a lot of the time you will listen to a track and it has lots of comments and it is boring as hell

either people all like boring music or they all just want to get listeners to their own stuff

you decide!

cant bring myself to say “yeah thats great” when its clearly not

and people get bored of reading " cool track" or some other generalisation

remix comp’s are just popularity comps imo its normally down to how many facebook friends you can spam etc me personally if i get a email advertising someones latest tune i especially dont listen unless it is a real friend

i personally dont have enough time to produce or listen to music let alone go on beatport or soundclound these days i could not imagine having enough spare time to be able to listen to random stuff on soundcloud i do my best to listen to sa subcribers stuff on here and comment but even that is very rare its not a ignorance thing its just time lol

when i put something on soundcloud i list it on the sa tune section and put the link on my facebook profile and thats it and leave it whatever happens happens tbh if it was that good to start i’d of been sending it to labels anyway…
