Does anyone else find it really irritating in the "bass" section of the "funkasaurus, Jackhammer" videos, when Graham Ginty keeps referring to his lovely descending bass as ascending?!?

Had anyone else noticed this? Surely a bass that goes down is descending? or is this some form of jargon that we noobs just do not understand? (Possibly it’s like “bad” meaning "good, “sick” meaning “good”, “fat” meaning “good” etc etc…!)
