Not sure exactly what you mean?/PPBut if you mean, do governments and politicians generally approve of dance music culture, then the answer is an emphaticnbsp; - NO!/PPIn fact, they are willing to take some pretty drastic measures to ensure that they curtail the spread and growth of ‘proper’ dance music culture./PPWhen you have a ‘proper’ dance music and clubbing culture going on, it encourages free-thinking, liberation, the desire to have a good time and enjoy life above all else, and a strong desire to get on with fellow man and try to be empathetic, understanding, co-operative and work together withnbsp;others etc./PPThis is generally the exact opposite of what a government wants!
.
I guess it’s all about knowing your promoters then!/PPI would say, rather than just going to any old clubnights because big-name DJ’s have been booked etc - actually spend some time getting to know the promoters, and make sure they are putting on their night for the right reason(s)!/PPThis would avoid going to nights where they are using the money from the nights for negative purposes.
Also in Ireland you had that Swedish House Muppets gig from hell with the deaths and stabbings.br
br
Let’s just say our government had a field day with the **** storm that followed that one and the chances of a large scale EDM gig happening in our capital again are slim.
.
I would imagine alot of these problems might have been solved if the government legally allowed good quality MDMA to be sold by properly licensed traders inside the venue, and then restricted the amount of alcohol that people could drink.br
br
Can’t imagine there would have been too many people up for stabbing someone if they are ****ed on E!
.
But your not allowed bring drink into any gig like that in Ireland. That was a stupid excuse I heard, I’ve been to at least 20 gigs MCD have organized and drink is never allowed, maybe on a campsite but not in at the gig.br
br
The phoenix park was just a bad place to have the SHM play.br
I’m no fan of MCD but to be fair to them they where hit with the s##t stick on this on.br
br
Some government suite in an office would have had to give them permission to hold that gig as its the government who own the phoenix park.br
That’s like handing a child a chainsaw, then trying to throw the child in jail after he cuts his own hand off.
Rob… (10/01/2013)
The drug culture in so many countries is ruining so many people lives. And the crime figures related to drug use is staggering.BRBRA drug user usually starts smoking cannabis as a teenager than stars taking acid, mushrooms, speed and E then progress on to harder drugs like coke and heron and theBRother **** that is knocking around. BRBRDrugs is causing so many problems to society and if you ask someone who has been a drug user for 25 years or more they would say keep away from drugs they will **** you up and put you in a grave.BRBRAnd Dave it sounds like you love your drugs now but later on in life you might look back and say to yourself why did I start taking drugs. Your mental amp; physical health could be damage with all the **** you put into your body and you could end up in the gutter with no friends and begging on the streets or shot dead because of drug related disputes.
/PPRob this has to be a joke post right - you can’t be serious with what you have just said? Younbsp;literally just quoted every single ridiculously inaccurate, propaganda-lacednbsp;bull**** about drugs that is pumped out by governments -nbsp;all in one single post!/PPAlot of the problems that are caused with regards to drugs are in some way a result of the governments decision to keep them illegal -when there is massive evidence that the governments ‘war-on-drugs’ is not working at all./PPThis simply makes it more difficult for people to consume drugs in the safest way possible - it creates a culture where people aren’t as willing to educatenbsp;other people about drugs and how to use them properly - as they are illegal, and it places the manufacture and distribution of drugs into the hands of the criminal fraternity -nbsp;who don’t have any concern at all about the overall quality and safety of the drugs they are peddlingnbsp;- all they care about is making as much money as possible - at any cost!/PPI know so many people who are recreational users of drugs these days - and they would never dream of taking other drugs like heroin - this is a ridiculous thing to say and such a massive generalisation. How many people in the world now take drugs such as MDMA, coke or cannabis - and have never, and never will, do heroin? The percentage that go on to do harder drugs like heroin must be minute./PPDo you have any statistics - or are you just believing every single bit of crap that the government feeds you, in order to push their own agenda?/PPA big part of the reason why drugs are ruining peoples lives is that it is so unregulated and the people that control it are in the main, criminals and are currently left to get away with whatever **** they want to inflick on other people./PPThe government will tell you that they are having some success in combatting drugs - but the truthnbsp;is that this is absolute rubbish - it is now so ridiculously easy to get drugsnbsp; - they are readily available anywhere, this tells me that the government are clearly doing very little to combat the current problems that exist. Yet they refuse to adapt and changenbsp;their strategy!/PPWhat does this tell you? Itnbsp;tells me that there is alot more to this than meets the eye, and that whatever the government tell you about what isnbsp;going on with drugs can’t be trusted - they clearly are happy for the current situation to continue - otherwise they would do something about it, instead of continuing in a fashion that everyone acknowledges is simply not working!/PPI can assure you, i willnbsp;never, ever have any regrets aboutnbsp;the drugs that i have taken - they have helped fuel some of the best nights of my life amongst friends and strangers alike, and i would choosenbsp;substances such as MDMA anytime, over a drug like alcohol - which all the evidence suggestsnbsp;is way more harmful than any other drug on this planet - in terms of the number of peoples lives that it messes up!/PPYet the government keeps alcohol legal - whilst all the time telling us that other drugs are nothing but bad for us and keeps them illegal, when all the evidence tells us that alcohol is highly destructive!/PPWhy? Everything the government tells us and does about this does not make any sense./PPSo stop just believing everything the government tell you my friend and start thinking for yourself.nbsp;
.
He’ll just offer me loads of prescription drugs which the government and all the large pharmaceuticalnbsp;giants make billions of pounds from every year!
