Doubt the experts

Had a tip in the Car the other day. No-one hurt.

Coming off a roundabout, in 2nd… Then up to 3rd, 4th… 50km. Car up ahead stopped. Good distance away. Hit the breaks gently…

Foot went straight to the fkn floor. No brakes.

Then the ABS kicked in. Car was buck-a-roo-ing. Did no damage to the car in front, it was just a loud bang. My bumper was kinda dinged. All fixed now… you wouldnt even know. Doenst look like I have to pay the other driver any money or anything. So lucky. They seem to be really cool about it. I’m amazed about that.

Feel really fortunate - cos I had been driving a lot that day, on very bendy hilly roads. It could have been a v.different story. You rely on your brakes. Totally take them for granted.

Anyway… point of this:

Have spoke to several mechanics… Took the car to the Dealership… No-one has ever heard of this problem. Car was ready today… and they said there was nothing wrong. All grand. Drove it out - Brakes fkkd again… just like before. Came home - Google search. I know now what the problem is. No-one has mentioned it. It happens on every car… mercedes, ford, bmw, renault. Its common.

What is up with these people? You pay them fkn money & they dont check it out properly. Its the fkn brakes FFS! A radio, a mirror or a light - I could take my chances. But the brakes! How can you not check out every possibility when theres a question mark over them.

Trust the experts, eh?!! Cnuts.

Intermittent faults! The bane of my life! The only thing I can suggest is take it back to the garage. Tell them the fault is still there. They need to see it to believe it and locate the fault properly

Tell them to drive the car at a brick wall at 50mph they’ll soon work it out!

Alternatively flog it in the free ads

Bastards

What was the problem ?

Master Cylinder - I believe. It holds the break fluid. Its not leaking, but its not keeping the pressure for whatever reason. Seals need checking.

You could take legal action against the garages - but that’s under UK law, can not see it being that different over there

yeah the master cylinder went in my car a while back, the guy changed about 4 different things before he did the master cylinder

i only found out at the end it was the master cylinder - had never heard of it before that like

but i had paid for a full new set of brake pads and discs etc before that and they hadnt even been the probem

the rear brake pipes all needed fixin too, had to take it to the MOT centre 3 times in all. finally got it thru on the 3rd go

cost bloody hundreds it did

sorry - the words master cylinder sent me off on one there
