can some tell me how i reach these driving Basses? I really need this for my new production!
I personally use massive, sylenth Omnicide, Reason 4 etc…
thx for you help!!!
the main bass in the drop sounds like a saw wave. with a bunch of distortion & sidechain compression.
i only listened to the first track and I listened on headphones so I couldn’t “feel” the bass…
if I was you I would try using massive + ohmnicide together (i also have them)…
in massive try layering a saw wave & a square wave oscillators together. detune them. add distortion. add compression. eq. limit.

Why??? I also have both…;
i like the distortion you get from ohmnicide better than the tube distortion u get in massive.
it has much more control over the individual frequencies then just applying tube in massive.
When i tried it your way it sounds like a cheap distorted bassline…i dont know how he creates this “grid”,
I used one sqr one saw, both -24 semitones, ful amp, some dimension exp. and 16 4 Voicing…
Some bass eq and the Vacuum Distortion Preset of Ohmnicide…

-24 semitones might be a bit much. whenever I drop an oscillator 3 octaves and play it on G1 or F1 it sounds like crap. I always shoot to make the bass sound good on the first octave set.
play with the position of the 2 oscillators. I usually try for the saw to be in the center. the square waves can be positioned to the left or the right, depending on what u want. also massive has multiple options for squares & saws. try different variations. Also try and add a 3rd osciallator. see what you get. I could easily be wrong on the oscillator choices that I gave you. So I would play with the different options massive.
I am not sure what “grid” is. Is that another word for grit? Are you just trying to make it dirty?
Try throwing a vocoder onto the bass channel. I find vocoders work great for bass synths and can really emphasize some grittyness to particular bass sounds… Just make sure that you play with the dry/wet on the vocoder to make sure you are not taking the punch out of it.
There are a million ways to get a dirty electro bass sound. It really depends on what you want. Massive is definitely a great synth that lots of people use to make these kinds of sounds. I use both massive & ohmnicide all the time when making my own electro tracks.
hey , this is my poor attempt to Lucky Date’s Bass!
