Drop Problem

I am trying to Intresting dubstep drop but, how i build it more complextro even i use 8 diffrent electro basses its still sounds kinda not cool. What do i miss? How could i make it sound like straight line but adding something way more moving. Like in Scary monsters and nice sprites. Is there tutorial videos in youtube or something how to build a good drop?

its all about building sections. when I write an electro or dubstep track… I do a couple things… first I get my chords or hook down… once I have that. I start making sounds and finding samples. I organize my samples by key and my synths by type.

then start working on the sections. sections are usually atleast a half bar long. they are put together from 16th, 8th & 1/4 note pieces from synths + samples. you can make a section that’s 2 bars long. or 1 bar… 4 bars is usually too long… but you can do a 4 bar section without a doubt… you just want to keep it inline with the rest of the song.

once I have like 10-20 sections created. I usually bounce them to audio. and keep them in an audio track in session view. from there I move them into arrangement view using a combination of my chords, hooks, and sections to create complextro and/or dubstep. i move them around constantly until i have something cool going. if its not cool. i delete it and try something else.

I suggest working on your hooks. if it doesnt sound that cool to you… its because its probably not that cool. try writing your hooks on just a simple basic piano sound. if it doesnt sound good on a regular piano… it probably wont sound that cool when you complextro it up.
