Jon_fisher (01/01/2011)

howiegroove (01/01/2011)

Jon_fisher (01/01/2011)
Drum rack uses either simpler or sampler (depending on how you set it up) and each channel has just 1 or 2 possible velocity modulation options which effect just volume and filter cutoff, where as Impulse has around 40+ per Impulse that effect panning, time, pitch, filter cutoff and such making Impulse a much better machine for the task of making electronic beats.
where as if you are programming rock or pop style beats then Drum rack is a better option its simple and everything is already grouped and bused for you with the velocity modulating the volume.
My personal opinion is though that Impulse also sounds tighter and more punchy and although it takes more effort setting it up, its also my favourite to use.
I disagree with Jon. I think drum racks gives you more options and has more routing capabilities as well. Personally, I think they sound a little different, but if you put a saturator on your drum rack channel, you might get a touch more punch.
hahaha knew you would, something we’ve always had a difference of opinion on but something anyone is yet to show me proof of ;)
CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!!!
And ICN, I’m extremely happy. My music career is taking off. I’m djing at a club that pulls in 1000 people on the night I DJ, and I have made tons of connects in the music scene. The truth is still that you talk out of your a55 and rarely have anything constructive to say. Cracking lame jokes is the only thing you are good at i suppose. Stick with it since your music is going nowhere.

okie doky matey
I love him too! Its fun to see everyone give us attention for screwing around. His mother gives me alot of attention too. Such a nice mouth…
Impulse is very quick and easy, and as Jon says has more velocity options.
Drum Rack however allows for further sound processing further down the chain as you can drop all sorts of instruments and effects etc into the pad
(achievable with impulse too, but only like anything can be routed anywhere really, just Drum Rack makes it easy all inline)
I love em both and use impulse for laying down beats, but sometimes wander into D/Rack for funky sh*t.
Sorry to drag this back on topic an all…

First time I ever heard my mums opening being referred to as a mouth. Your Pecker must be tiny Howie! LOL
Edit: Just spoke to her there… It is actually a mouth. Fair play.
she LOVES the cock! Apparently, your wife loves mine too…
Is this the Music Tech Discussion forum or the Off Topic?
The level of conversation here has confused me some what.

Think it’s supposed to be salt (as in salt in a wound?)
Didn’t realise you divorced Howie, you’ve taken it really well (as in you do seem much happier in your self, perhaps even more confident?)… or at least you come across that way.
Good for you Howie
