Just thought id post a tip/trick that i use to layer my sounds in ableton .
DRUM STACK.
in arrangement view ( preference)
Create an instrument rack on a midi channel, drag and drop a “scale” device from your midi fx into your instrument rack.
then insert a chord device from your midi fx into the rack after the scale device ,
-then drop an impulse device into the rack, load your imulse with say 3/4or more kicks
go back to your scale device click on the bottom row to make sure the bottom line is all orange squares .
next onto the chord device -
shift 1=+2
shift 2=+4
shift 3=+5
shift 4=+6
shift 5=+7
etc … etc
from here play around with different filter settings for each hit ie low pass on sub kick frequencies … short decay for say a click for your kick etc…etc .
you can also goup these devices further and give them their own key range to do this just cick on the keybutton in the instrument rack and allocate a key range for each impulse ie kick impulse c3
snare impulse c#3 etc
just thought id share hope you enjoy !:)
