Dubstep (not skrillex,excision,doctor P, etc....)

So i got into dub step back in 08 shortly after being introduced to bassnectar’s music. After listening to dub step over the last few years its genre has quickly evolved into sub genres. Over these years i’ve slowly gotten out of listening to the hardcore/grimey dubstep (skrillex, excision, doctor p (brostep) mostly just because the formula for the song gets monotonous. And a dj, dj’ing an hour or more of the same formula gets boring. Kinda like house music can get boring if you’re not into it. Not knocking anyone for liking it, just not into 4 on the floor for hours. So here I am, bored of the genre i was once really into. But then arose these sub genres. Lately i’ve been into guys like Gladkill, Nicoluminous, Stephan Jacobs, Sugarpill, etc…which is in short just crunk *** bass music…

I’d like to know how gladkill mixes bass, I’m sure he’s using massive and/or predator and i do understand that these guys are pretty technical so I understand if it might take a while to figure this stuff out. This is a relatively short mix to give you a general idea

Check around 8:00 for the intro leading into some nastiness…id like to know how to mix sounds together like that

Also, i love this guys “aye” “yai” sound on the last track of his mix…i think he also puts an auto pan/gate technique on. On the “yai” sounds, I’m wondering how he gets it sounding all squeegee and ****…start listening around 45:45

Also, if you have the time listen to the whole mix, such an awesome sound altogether.

I know it’s been mentioned as of late because i’ve seen people requesting massive tutorials and i’m +1’ing that request mostly because all these producers i’m into are all using it. I’m also into the Pretty Lights/ Hudson Mohawke/ Rustie/ Flying Lotus sound as well, so anything diving into psychedelic hip hop i wouldn’t mind…thanks for any and all help. Just signed up this past week and am loving this site so far. Thank You so much for taking the time to start this site.
