Hello,
I have already seen that there is a dubstep tutorial with Cubase, but I was just curious if this could also be made with ableton live 8 and if so, would there be any way to post a video doing this?
hopefully this isnt too dumb of a quesiton.
Thanks,
Mike
if you download the project file theres an ableton file in there
There is an Ableton Project which is great! However some of the elements are missing and the beats timing/snap, sound quality and dynamics do not sound exactly the same! Infact the Ableton project sounds 1/10 the qaulity of the Cubase version in my opinion, and that’s comparing it with the video’s Audio! Why? I’m about to email SA with this exact request and when I here back I’ll post back on this page if poss…
This all begs the question[s]? why not do an Ableton Dubstep Tutorial? [there is enough people using the program without doubt? Why is the sound qaulity compromised? Is Cu-base better for Dubstep production? I do recall years back that Cu-base had a better “Snap” or “midi timing” than Pro-tools for example, however you would think that this is all in the past with the new hardware/software these days? All I know is my Dubstep Ableton Project sounds half-*** and the Cu-base version sounds great! And if you don’t own Cu-base then your stuck with all the above!!!

the ableton project was added as a guide and just as a little help - it is not complete.
the complete version was done using Cubase.
Regarding snap timing - both sequencers have the same ability to snap to grid
if you are having trouble applying the same techniques across to Ableton then please check out our beginner and intermediate courses in Ableton Live Intro to get you started.
All DAWs have pretty much the same functionality so there is no need to recreate the same tutorial in various DAWs. if there is a demand for it however we will look at doing this
it would be good if u please start a series like the one on peak time trance or mainroom house but on dubste, would be a killler !!! i would be very happy
