Editing audio drumloops

I think ive asked this question before at some point i know most people use a drum loop from a sample cd now i know most of the loops have the kick left out what i’d like is when arranging your track and you want take different elements out of  thedrums whats everyones techniques for doing this when using a audio drumloop.thanks

if your using live then line up all the individual hits right clickthen hit slice to new midi track it will give you options use transients … live automatically gives you a new midi track with all the individual hits cut up ! … hope this helps:)

ps if you use the loop in arrange view you could do it the long way round and take the hits from there

Bastard! I was gonna reply, but you were too quick.

Another thing you could do as well though…

If you wanted to work with audio, you could duplicate it in your session view. Then go into the clip envelopes by clicking the little letter “e” at the bottom left. Then, you can take out single hits by automating the volume in each clip. Then you have different sounding clips to work with.

But I dont work with drum loops unless its a top loop.
