Hey guys,
I have two questions/requests for tutorials. Firstly, this might seem like an amateur question to ask but how exactly does Tommy Trash make the kick in his remix of Chris Lake’s “Build Up” starting at the time 1:30 in this video:
Chris Lake - Build Up (Tommy Trash Edit) - YouTube
(It’s kind of like a bump bada bump sound…I’m not sure if he’s using multiple kicks or if he’s taking a low-end snare sample)
Secondly, I’m not really sure exactly what to call this type of sound but Tommy Trash uses it in most of his songs. Its kind of a “greasy” sound as Dada Life would say but its the sound starting at 2:00 in Tommy Trash’s - “Future Folk”

Thanks for all your help!

For the first bit I think there are just some percusive elements . kick perc snare all in a sexy swing.
As for the second bit, heck if I know, If been trying to make that BRRR , also found at Far Too Loud and Plump Djs . I can get the sound with pitch envelopes but not THAT sound, that makes you go “how the **** did he do that?”.Anyway Tommy Trash is using Massive and that’s off territory for me. I don’t use it so I can’t help you . Peo De Pitte told me he makes these sounds with lots of tweaking on the Arturia vst line products. And I don’t own them either.
So my advice is to use pitch envelopes in Sylenth , sidechain, off phase saws and use the internal distortion or if you own Kombinat from Audio Damage for better result. I got a similar sound but not good enough yet.
Thanks a lot, much appreciated!
