i just recently bought rob papens distortion fx vst and it has a “gate” on it, i’ve seen this in abletons effects section as well can you help me figure out what the hell that thing does?
A gate does what it says. It’s a way of letting the things you want through and stopping the things you don’t.
Most gates are volume dependent gates… Meaning they open and close depending on the volume threshold. Gates are useful for cutting of low level noise from a track.
