Export/Headphones Issues (Ableton Live)

So I have finished work on a track in Ableton Live and it sounds fine. However when I export the file and listen to it in I-Tunes the track sounds much quieter than it did when I listened to it in Ableton. I also seem to loose a good deal of the bass that I had when I listened to it in Ableton.



Also when I plug in a set of headphones and listen to the track in Ableton I seem to have similar problems.



Is this a result of something that I am doing/not doing? And if so how can I fix this problem?

hey simon, did you do any dithering? if you are not familiar with it, you should have it set to off. another thing is there is a good chance that it needs to have something on the mastering chain to raise the levels. This should be done by a mastering engineer.
