quick question…
Im beginning to produce and im starting to notice that my Macbook Pro will eventually be cluttered with VST’s, synths, samples, etc.
I am looking into getting a decent external hard drive to help maintain performance on my Mac. Keep in mind my Mac is brand new, and who knows maybe I’ll be ok for now with space, but I’d rather be organized on an external.
Any recommendations to brand of external, and amount of space on the drive is generally necessary for music production add ons.
As well, any tips on what to keep on the actual computer, and what to put on the external?
thanks!

If your mac has thunderbolt connection ( faster than usb3.0 and firewire) soon companies would introduce and produce external hardrives to support this connection.1TB (1000GB) of space should do. The more space the better , cause samples/soft/plugins keep to pile up.

Get hard drive that has 7200Rpm or 1000Rpm speed and buffer size 16mb or 32mb.
Connection speeds:
usb2 /firewire > usb3.0> thunderbolt (fastest)
