Failed to load Audio Unit ANA

bought and installed 1.0.3 AU/Vst (32 and 64bit) although i am working mainly in 64bit modus in logic 9.1.5. / OS 10.6.7. successfully placed the license in Library/Application Support/Sonic Acadmey/ANA/License/ana.license. logic started the synth as a registered version (not DEMO) and ALL was OK while checking it out.

but little later when i started new project and wanted to load an instance of ANA it gave me an error:

“Failed to load Audio Unit ANA, please contact the manufacturer for an updated version or further assistance.”

can’t load the synth anymore and in 32bit it even crashes Logic.

please help. thanks.

Do you remember changing anything from the time it worked to the time it stopped working? did you move any folders or edit any of the sample files etc?

hi phil

very odd - i really had this problem yesterday (even after restart system/logic) and only ANA was affected. today, i just started logic to continue working and - ANA starts again without an error…

regarding your question - no - except for a sample rate change due to different projects (between 44/48khz), i changed nothing. my system/logic is very stable and i mostly “cutout” any problems myself very soon.

now that it’s working again - let’s hope it stays like that. otherwise i will let you know. thanks for your understanding.

Yeah please keep us updated… If its a bug we would like to track it down.
phil johnston (15/05/2012)
Yeah please keep us updated… If its a bug we would like to track it down.
I still got that error coming up randomly - don’t ask me why & when (maybe a AU 32/64bit conflict). I just know a Computer restart resolves the problem. Very annoying :alien:. I really wonder that nobody else has the same problem. Are there any hidden files or could you tell what to remove for a complete Uninstallation?

are you getting a crash report?

No. Just that

could you give me your system specs…

also anything else unusual about your Mac… did you rename the Mac folder, have a network drive etc.?

ive been trying to recreate this with no luck.

OS 10.6.7, 16GB RAM, 2x2.8 Intel Quad Xeon 2008 with Logic 9.1.5 - very stable and there’s nothing unusual on my Mac (not renamed Drives, Networks or similar).

It’s the only Plug that’s causing a random error. It’s just bad luck for me and i must grab other Synths in the future cause it’s getting too complicated.

You have not yet answered my question how to completely remove everything installed by that ANA Synth?

Ahh you have Xeon chips… we have had trouble with those in the past.

Ill pass it on to the developer.

To completely remove ANA you just delete the ANA.vst, ANA x64.vst, ANA.component, ANA x64.component

Then The Folder Located: /Library/Application Support/Sonic Academy
Ill pass it on to the developer…
OK. Let me know when there’ll be a fix (cause the ANA Synth sounds good). Any hidden files to remove also (i like it clean…;))? Thanks so far, Phil.
