Not had a day off in ages and now that I finally get one day off, i just can’t seem to find inspiration and/or nothing is going to plan on the production front.
Typical.
then tidy your hard drive up, organise your samples, create new samples, etc.
hmm that could work i guess.
Think i’m finding inspiration just listening to other music. I think my problem is that I keep trying to make new and different sounds / styles rather than sticking to my ‘style’?
I need to stick to a certain sound so it becomes my identity i think, i find that hard though as i like being creative… but at the same time, doing so holds me back as i sometimes struggle with it.
i’d say you have a day off to really actually have a day off… just relax man…
Never enough hours or days in the week is there… although i guess if there was then work would only too quickly snap up those days for more hours for you to grind on!!
def not enough hours in the day man. if there was i’d spend it on drinking more…

I find it best to drink berfore breakfast and clean my teeth with russian vodka - sets me up for my cornflakes and special brew
At work lucky that I am a smoker as I say just havibg a cigarette break - down the pub for a quick pint - maybe get away with that 3 times
Now the trick for lunch is get a tin of soup add russian vodka - yopur colleagues will never notice
I would give you more tips for the rest of the day - but it always ends up in a blur
lol I just chug listerine through a beer bong when I’m in my cubicle at work.
@ Roben. I get this problem as well. I will be too busy to do any production, in fact I have to avoid it so I can get done what needs to be done.
But I will be working towards getting some time to do some music, then when I have set some time a side for doing some, nothing works. It is very frustrating.
I don’t have any solutions for you I’m afraid. I hope your day was productive in the end.
I actually allocate some time in the day everyday - usually between 7 - 10 pm and thats my music time - usually take Friday or Saturday off depending on my social life (yes i do have one just depends how much the agency charges )
I think its realy hard after a long break to say right lets start being creative and productive as your mind and ears need to get back in to training - and no point just staring at your DAW getting frustrated - just ease back into it
fck knows what I am talking about but hey it may help

Haha!
Makes sense to me Paul.
With me i find my creative bursts come at random times, i can’t just switch my brain on and think “ok now i’m going to be creative, lets go” and it all happens, it’s just totally random. I can be at work bouncing to all these ideas in my head wishing i had DAW infront of me right there and then to start putting things down, other times like today i have all day and… nothing.
Or i could be just about to hit the sack and… BOOOM my mind starts filling up with ideas.
