Finding midi notes to songs you like

I,ve been trying to work out the notes for Planet Perfecto- Bullet in my gun so that I can do a chilled mix which i dont think has been done before.

I,ve been trying to work it out using my ears ,melodyne and the keyboard but struggling with some of it as I think the song uses chords not just single notes.

Are there any websites that show midi or musical notes to dance tracks?

Any help much appreciated.

It is exactly what you asked for. If you download the file, un zip it and drag it into your DAW you will have everything you need.

easy peasy lemon squeasy

Wow, I never knew such a thing existed!

How are these made? Is it a case of someone making them by hand so to speak or is there a program that can listen to a song and then make one for you. Even as I’m typing it that sounds like it would be impossible though!!

Is there anything that an do anything like that though? Can a program extract a chord sequence from a track?

Thanks

Alan

Oh I see now.I did actually download that file already but had n’t tried importing as a midi file as did n’t think it was one.Pretty cool in cubase it opens loads of different midi tracks for each part unfortunately the main riff is missing.

Certainly can- http://www.widisoft.com/

u can do it that way… or just search for a song midi… sometimes that works.

the other way is to recreate it. find the notes/chords on a guitar and then transcribe it to midi.

so how good is this widi then ?

So how do you seperate the midi to differnt channels - or am i just being daft

depends, some midi files will automatically separate to individual midi tracks in ableton, some will need a program called “Dent du Midi” which will split the midi file neatly into its separate channels and make a folder automatically just by dragging the file over it’s window.

It might be mac only = HAHA! :stuck_out_tongue:
