I’m fairly new to production so I’m looking for any feedback at all. Cheers!
The bassline is pretty good, could use a bit more layering/distortion, but thats just cause I’m an electro/house head who enjoys a bit of lower end filth
I would say it needs a bit more things happening in the background. Like modulated pads or glimmer, you know, some ear candy to keep the listener entertained
Thanks for the feedback!
I agree it could do with a bit more going on. I did try a few pad sounds out, but the ones I tried didn’t really fit the rest of the tune. I guess that’s just a lack of knowledge/experience in the sound design department. I tried tweaking a few presets but had no joy.
Yeah it can be tough to go back and add background subtleties to a song. Thats why I tend to start with the most full part of a song, which generally speaking is the drop. The drop will most likely have the most layers in your track, so I make a bunch of different layers that all work with the drop (individually) and then separate them and disperse them within the song to keep some interest. Also modifying your drums every 4 to 8 bars adds a surprising amount of variation yet doesn’t really effect the mood of your track too much
Nice track really like the melody that you got going on. Went to see Prydz on the the weekend at Warehouse Project. Im sure he is right up your street. Awesome producer & DJ. Left a comment on your track for you. Good luck with it.
Paul:)
@ FlyingYeti - That’s a good tip! A simple one, but one I’ve overlooked! lol
Cheers for the positive feedback Paul. I’m going to see Prydz on 26th at Alexandra Palace.
Warehouse Project is a good night; I saw Brodinski, Erol Alkan & Boys Noize there last month. Cracking night!
