thetaxdoctor (20/05/2011)
In ‘normal’ life I’m an accountant and I run my own practice. So in a nutshell I just don’t get the time that music production needs. It’s taken me a while to be able to say that but there it is - I can finally say it!
As much as I want and wanted to sit down and learn, well “relax”, I’m the sort of person that wants to know the ins and outs of a cats *** so to speak! I’ve never going to get to a standard that I’m going to be happy with little ‘spare’ time I have. So for the money that I’ve spent so far I’d like to release it and use it for the future - whatever that maybe!
I can really empathise with this. I’m also self-employed, IT support/consultancy, and while the business was treading water last year I was able to find time to do some production work (but still not a huge amount). But I have been pushing to expand this year and the amount of time I get to spend on production has taken a nose dive. I have a wife and a dog, and we all know what is next on the horizon, so the business needs to take the step to the next level.
All that said I am not going to give up, it is my hobby and a hobby is a good thing to have. Family comes first, work second and I need to put my hobby third.

If you don’t have the time to learn how to mix and make sounds why not do the following
Get a rompler
Get mastering studio to mix and master your music .
You don’t have to do it all to be a producer hell some producers have 6 producers on there team and on top on that a mix engineer and then a mastering house .
Ok! Finally pulled my finger out! If anyone’s interested here’s my ebay page of stuff for sale:
