Free Anti Virus for mac's

Got an email from my brother a few days ago forgot to mention it but he’s recently had a few call outs to mac owners and they have turned out to be viruses on the mac’s not a huge risk or anything but he recommend that i use and anti virus anyway mostly because i use mac and pc.

anyway he recommended this and to be fair system resource wise i don’t even notice its there, wish the same could be said about norton on my pc lol

Virus attacking people with Macs haha

Don’t know why i find that so amusing, perhaps it’s like a big f*ck you to those mac vs pc adverts and their BS ‘no virus’ claims lol.

I’m a PC, and I rock.

LOL

When I was an IT manager we used Sophos was very reliable so would recommend too

The reason the Mac vs PC arguments come up is becuase people keep going on and on about it - don’t they Roben?!

Personally I use both.  They both have there pluses and minuses, it’s down to individual use.  For me, PC is a work machine and MAC is a music/video kinda creative machine.

Anyway, thanks for the heads up John I’ll check it out - can’t hurt to run anti-virus software on a mac!  Nothing is impossible, as your brother is proving!

I’m just messing dude

Haha I know you are mate but when this topic crops up from the threads I’ve read you’re nearly always the first one in! LMAO

Just admit defeat, buy a MAC and become a serious producer!!! (oh the irony) :hehe:

That’s only because EVERY ‘what laptop to get’ or any thread to do with a PC, all you lot jack it and say ‘get a mac :)’ haha.

Anyways I’m currently writing this to you on a mac lol.

Use macs nearly every day at college, they’re ok, but prefer the work flow on a PC.

Anyways lets not make this into another mac v pc thread!! yawn :stuck_out_tongue:

Haha

my PC will leave any mac besides the 12 core i7 processor 5k mac pro, in the dust.

16 gigs with a 6 core processor overclocked to 4.2ghz. bring on the benchmarking!

yah man I just built it like 2 months ago. it cost me 800 dollars initially. total. I just bought another 8 gigs of memory for Christmas though. now I am maxed out at 16gigs.

i can literally run like 80-100 synths with FX in ableton at 1 time. no crackling or power loss.

it won’t bat an eye! i would LOVE to see a macbook do that.

Edit

Take a look at the image attached, I have an i7 950 which has 4 cores and 8 threads. Ableton appears to only use 4 threads, Ableton CPU meter (as in availabel CPU to Ableton is 68% but I am only using 21% of available CPU.

Can you do the same on your 6 core PC and tell me what result you get?

Thanks
