ENJOY AMIGOS e AMIGAS!

Very good initiative, mate… since i saw the new Nerve VSTi price, i was about to cry because i can’t afford any good VST with my little teacher’s salary. Your topic is a breeze of fresh air…

I will add these :

  • Bram and Sean’s Smartelectronix - s(M)exoscope (Windows & Mac OS)

Description from the Tom Cosm website : I’m not that great at mastering with my ears, in fact I’m pretty useless. I spend a lot of time looking and watching, so I need all the tools I can get when it comes to analysing sound. This little guy sits over my master and shows me the waveform. I can adjust settings so a particular single wavelength sits in the middle… imagine playing a sine wave and seeing one wavelength of that waveform in front of you… as you adjust something, say frequency modulate it with another sine wave, you can see how this is shaping each individual oscillation. Very handy indeed! Best of all? It’s free! however make sure you donate a few bucks if you use it.

  • Michael Norris - Soundmagic Spectral (Mac OS)

Description from the Tom Cosm website : This is more a set of tools than an individual VST. The crazy sounds you can get out of these things are insane. Don’t let the simple GUI fool you, these are very powerful. Just be careful as you can set parameters too high in this one, put a safety limiter over your output when experimenting.

Description from the official website : SoundMagic Spectral is a FREEWARE suite of 23 Audio Unit plug-ins that implement real-time spectral processing of sound. This groundbreaking set of effects give you unprecedented control and creativity in the processing of audio, whether from static audio files or live audio streams. SoundMagic Spectral builds on the work of the OS 9 software known as SoundMagic DSP, and takes it to even more exotic sonic realms.

I hope to see many more useful VSTs in this topic… actually, i’m looking for a good drum machine with a few kits to create techno / house progressive beats.

I’ll add this one which is coming from the “Looking for Moog VST’s” topic…

  • MiniMogueVA (Windows)

Description from the official website : Based on the most popular analog monosynth of all time! This amazing softsynth sounds very close to the original Minimoog, yet has tons of additional features not present on the original Mini (as well as the Minimoog Voyager!), including 5-note polyphony, an Arpeggiator and 16-note Step Sequencer, dedicated Release knobs for the two Contour Generators (envelopes), Tuning of Osc 1, Fine Tuning sliders for Osc2 and Osc3, Aftertouch control, adjustable filter Velocity curve, 3 independent Overdrive sliders (one per oscillator), Global Overdrive with hi and lowpass cutoff, Oscillator Sync, Chorus, an independent LFO that includes oscillator drift and stereo panning, and a fully programmable Digital Delay! Like the original Mini, you can turn Osc3 into an LFO with dedicated modulation for the Osc Pitch and the Filter. There is no dedicated Noise Generator as on the original Mini, but pink and white noise are selectable on Osc 3. All controls are mapped to MIDI CC#'s, and you can override the default settings by using the MIDI Learn feature. Use as a simple stand-alone synth (.exe file included), or copy the DLL into your favorite DAW or sequencer’s plugin folder.

nice one lads

rough rider sounds pretty cool but can it be used for sidechaining?
