Free vst plugins? (Ableton Live 8)

Just wondering what would be recommended as neccessary vst plugins for Ableton Live 8. Preferably free ones, but in general the most essential.

TAL-Bitcrusher. Single best bitcrush/redux plug in (or at least free one.)

ALl Patricks TAL stuff is great… Really nice bloke too.

maybe i should clarify that I am running on a Mac, and i’m also a little confused on how to download these vst’s to ableton live SUITE.
