Funky Bass in Sylenth

Hay people im trying to create a funky bassline in Sylenth but not sure what the best peramiters to use are. I want to start with a low bass and then gradually built on it. Simulat to Swedish House Maffia but with a funky twist. Anyone know any tips that I could use in Sylenth?

Thanks

Try watching the videos and try to figure it out on your own. No shame in turning knobs and I GUARANTEE you will learn much more then if someone just tells you how to do it. Ill help you get started.

A sine wave has only one fundamental frequency with no overtones. If you want a clean bottom end and you want rumble, add a sine or triangle in there…but only a little bit. Everything else is just fiddling around.

you could also watch either How to make sweedish house or the SHM One get that sound… both have many sounds to get you started.

It does help mate. I’ve been watching fewer whole track vids lately and more ones on how to manipulate a synth to get a particular sound. It’s helped me a lot on understanding how different waves sound and how to modulate them to create something sounding very different. It’s amazing you can start with one sound, think it’s rubbish, modulate it some and then it sounds so good and so different.

Get twiddling!
