Hi guys, br
br
Hope you’re all good and enjoying this snowy weather! ;)br
br
I made a track about 9mths ago and decided to have it mastered recently by Conor Dalton after watching his mastering tutorial courtesy of S.A :w00t:br
br
The track itself is sounding great now, but I am torn about what to do with it…br
br
It’s had quite a few listens on soundcloud and people seem to be giving it some good feedback but I’m not really sure what genre it would be classed as so unsure who to contact with regards to possibly getting it signed.br
Oh it should be the track below in my signature called “Guilty Pleasure”. I cant see it at the mo as my wonderful workplace have blocked streaming sites.
Reminds me a bit of Metro Area br
br
I still think the track needs a fair bit of work before you could get it signed.br
br
There are quite a few elements that sound out of key to me.br
br
the track also sounds quite dry… have a listen to the linked tracks use of reverb in different areas and how it adds depth.br
br
Yeah that was going to be my next comment actually Phil. Whether it was actually ready to be signed…br
br
Tbh I’m a little bit stuck with what to do with it? Which parts sound out of key, bearing in my I have little musical knowledge at all and am tone deaf when I sing! haha
your pads are not in the same key as your lead… so you need to fix one or the other.br
br
could always just slap a scale plug in over everything… set it to Cmin or somehting.
I’ll take a look when I get home later. Thanks for the advice Phil
Okay just checked the pad and the stab and yes you were right Phil, the pad was in C Major and the stab was C Minor. How the hell did you hear that!?! lolbr
br
It’s sounding much darker now the pad’s in minor br
br
Gonna strip it back to the beginning and attempt to add some EQ, Reverb, Fills, etc now that I have learnt a thing or two over the last 9mths.br
br
Wish me luck! :hehe:
Good luck look forward to it next version… You should have a look at the phil Kieran sample pack… The kick snare loops and the percussion stuff in that pack would be perfect for this track.
