Get that sound - these hi-hat groove

i would like to know how to make those hi-hats that comes in @ 0:47 seconds. and how do you do it using one shots? thank you

This is what I do when I want to know something like this.

I import the track into Ableton and loop up a 4 bar loop checking that it is warped correctly, I move the start marker to the start of the loop then click the loop button.

I then right click and crop so it is just the 4 bar loop. I then right click and Slice to a new midi track.

Which option you select for create one slice per will depend on your loop, but try 1/16th to start.

One the new midi track that is created play each of the slices, work out which are the same. Load a drum rack and try and recreate.

can you do a video on this lol?

The force tells me it sounds like samples… a sampled loop low cut for the hats and then the bass groove sounds like an old disco or funk tune cup up and filtered. Lazy gits half of these big names… trust me.

true and i would like to learn to recreate that from scratch, beat for beat. =]

That’s a sample 100%… why recreate the wheel?

That is an MPC groove setting, nice heavy swing,

what 2001 uses to make tunes is up on www.residentadvisor.co.uk (somewere interview with him)

You can get them off the Internet for Logic, the ones in Ableton don't quite feel the same.

You could always make a grrove template in logic from a loop from that track then apply that to your programming.
