Just wondering about how everyone else approaches learning from the vids. When i first started out i got to grips with basics of production very well but moving on from that ive hit a bit of deadend.Theres that much content now im just not sure where to start .Just wondering if anyones got any useful tips to get the most out of the vids because im thinking of renewing my subscription shortly.cheers
I would pick one of the “How to Create ----” tutorials and create the track along with the tutorial. Maybe change some stuff around to make it your own song.
I just completed the Tech Trance tutorial, building the track along with the tutorial. It took me a few days to complete it, but I learned so much from doing that one. This really wasn’t even a genre I considered producing tbh. But building this track taught so much more about how Compression and Reverb work in the song. It also really helped me in learning how to work in the Arrangement view and completing a track.
when you first start you should try to just copy the tutorials exactly i think. it helps you get the repetition of the process down. then as you do more… try to do your things or changes or remixes whatever with what they do in the videos. it will help you get ready for starting on your own!
Yeah copy the tuts beat for beat to start with. You’ll soon start adapting thing then before you know it you’ll be creating your own stuff
I’d also add that the majority of the tutorials assume that you already know the basics and sometimes techniques contradict each other. I would also say that if you are brand new to music, do the “how to create music in Ableton” (or whatever DAW you use) to get used to HOW things operate. that way you can understand the reasoning behind the techniques.
