how do i take my groove settings from Guru and apply them to other parts of my tracks in live.

you could record it to audio and get ableton to analyze it then extract the groove

i think thats only available in live 8 !

can i also extract grooves  with 7 ??

yeah you can but you have to do it manually…



take a drum loop… put warp markers on all the drum hits. right click>slice to midi



this creates a midi part and a load of simplers in an instrument rack.



the midi part is your groove and you can swap out the drums for your own samples.



you could even use the midi part on bass… you would just have to move the notes to the right place and be careful you dont move them off their horizontal position
