so i have guru playing a perc channel within my overall track
i have a pattern playing and it fits nicely into my track. the swing setting in Guru is turned up
but when I drag the pattern into ableton it loses the rhythm and goes wonky
same thing used to happen in cubase too
what am i doing wrong?
think i have it sorted
ooops
best thing to do is to not use it as a constant plugin but just as a tool.
use it on a loop and then rerecord the new loop into an audio channel.
thats what ur supposed 2 do!

Whupp------------------------------> Smack on the head :hehe:
i know it can slice up loops and do stuff tothem
but whats wrong with usin it to program my own loops just as a normal midi channell
i dont really like the way it slices / plays loops
and thats boring anyway - the ,ain point of it for me is to program my own loops
the problem with the swing controls is that in cubase the only way to get the pattern is to drag/drop it in the arrangement.
this loses the rhythm that plays back in guru and sounds totaly different.
i treid recording it playing the pattern in ableton and it didnt record so i did the drag drop onto the arrangement and it went wonky again.
then i realised that i needed to drag the guru pattern onto the clip slot in session view
and it worked fine and played the pattern exactly as it had in guru
problem solved!
