ok so i decided that i want to work on this loop in session view but the arrangement view keeps playing. how do i stop the arrangement view so all i hear is whatever i press play on the session view?
Hmm, that’s weird. I usually suffer from the exact opposite: my session view keeps playing when I’m in arrangement view. It’s easily remedied by clicking the “back to arrangement” icon in the toolbar at the top:
As for the arrangement view playing when you’re in the session view. Make sure you hit the global “stop” button and then switch to the session view and try triggering one of your clips.
See if that helps.
is the global stop button the one located on the right under master, called [ ] stop clips ?
The global stop is the one at the top of the screen. The one you’re referring to is the stop all clips button. That’s just for the session view clips and ensures that when you launch/play your next clip, it will be the only one playing.
Give both a click to make sure everything is stopped.

as far as im aware, you need a blank arrangement window to work in session view. as you will notice as soon as you hit ‘play’ your song position starts moving, and it will play whatever it comes across in arrangement view.
if you want to just play about in session view, create a empty loop in arrangement view so that it simply loops when played in session view
thank you guys
